Use

Place the gaiwan on a stable surface. Add leaves and water appropriate for your tea, leaving room below the rim. The source photographs show a lid perched on the bowl; adjust it gently and keep fingers clear of hot ceramic and liquid. Support the bowl carefully when pouring.

Care

Hand-wash gently with mild detergent and a soft cloth, then dry completely. Avoid abrasives, impacts and sudden temperature changes. Check the ceramic and lid for damage before each use.
