Use

Place the selected item on a stable surface. Pour brewed tea into a cup or serving pitcher, leaving space below the rim. For a gaiwan, brew a small portion of loose tea and control the pour with the lid while protecting your fingers from heat. Support a strainer with its matching stand or holder over a suitable receiving vessel; check stability before pouring. Allow tea to cool before sipping. These are manual porcelain tea vessels, not electric or direct-heat kettles.

Care

Hand wash gently with mild detergent and a soft sponge, rinse and dry. Handle thin rims, feet and lids carefully. Avoid knocks, abrasive cleaning and sudden temperature changes. Microwave, dishwasher and direct-heat suitability are unconfirmed. Inspect a strainer and its support before use; do not use chipped or structurally cracked porcelain.
